Hello Friends! I missed you…
After a 7 year break, I have decided to start blogging again. Now that my kids are teenagers (and never home), I realize that I miss blogging! I miss putting together outfits, and to be honest, I have let my style slip a bit over the past few years. I have a closet full of clothes, yet I tend to wear the same thing every day. Does that sound familiar? If so, I hope that this blog will inspire us to put some effort into our everyday looks.
So, if you are one of my original readers, hello! Welcome back! And if you just found me- hello and welcome. I’m glad you’re here!
Let me briefly explain who I am and what I am doing.
I’m a mom who loves putting together simple everyday outfits. Back in 2011 I started this little fashion blog as a way to up my style… then after a year and a half I realized I needed to focus on my family for a while, so I quit. But now I am back and ready to explore how simple changes can make a boring outfit special.
As a reminder, this blog is a learning tool for me. I am not claiming to be an expert. On the contrary, I always feel like I never quite get it right. I leave the house feeling pretty good about my outfit, then when I get wherever I’m going and see other stylish women, I feel like something is slightly off. I have spent years trying to figure it all out… and while I’m still learning, there are a few tricks that I have picked up on that I want to pass along.
So, every day I will show you my before and after photo so that you can see that by making little additions and changes- you can have a cute, stylish look.
Now…let’s talk about my outfit.
It’s just a simple outfit of jeans, a tee shirt and a waffle shrug. Nothing earth shattering, but a cute, comfy outfit perfect for running errands.
In my after picture you can see I added a cute belt, changed the boots for leopard flats and added a necklace. Three little changes, but what a difference they make.
Shoes- Sam Edelman (Nordstrom)
T Shirt- Calson (Nordstrom)
Shrug- Splendid
Jeans- Joe’s (Nordstrom Rack)
Belt (Nordstrom Rack)
Necklace- gift

Hi Megan! Welcome back. Your blog was the first one I started reading years ago when I began my style journey. I was sad to see you go, but realized that there are seasons to life and I valued your wisdom and choice to focus on your family at that time. I still have inspiration photos in my computer file of your outfits from your blog from “back in the day”. I think your approach here to give the before and after pictures is a new and interesting way to help us learn. I follow several other blogs and this approach is unique and exciting. It is good to have you back, and I am thrilled to continue learning and growing with you.
Thank you so much Rose- I truly appreciate your kind words of encouragement!
