My little sister once asked to do to a post on how to transition a tennis outfit into a running errands outfit, so that is what today’s post is all about. I have a tennis match today, but will be running a couple errands before the match, so I wanted an outfit that worked for that.
I started with my cropped Lululemon leggings and black Adidas tennis shoes, I then added this cute dolman sleeve top from Target. I think the color is gorgeous, it’s kind of a purple grey- perfect for fall. I like this top because it’s casual- but can easily be dressed up. To add even even more warmth, and a little style I then added this cute black vest. When I get to my match I can take off the vest and top to reveal my tank underneath, then I just need to add my tennis skirt. Easy!
I had so much fun last week with my Nordstrom inspired theme week, that I’ve decided to do another one- but on my own terms! It really does make getting dressed easier when you have a point of reference to start. So, here are my plans for the week: Monday: Cozy Flannel, Tuesday: Camo, Wednesday: Dress or skirt, Thursday: Athleisure Wear, Friday: Weekend Ready Graphic T shirt
What could be more fall than a flannel? I mean seriously! It’s like the quintessential fall outfit. My first look was ripped jeans, the flannel and tennis shoes, but that is a little plain.
So then I decided to tye the flannel around my waist and pair it with a white henley long sleeve shirt. I really like this look- it’s a great casual, weekend outfit! For a little less casual version, I thought I’d add this cute utility jacket. This jacket is perfect for chilly fall mornings, it’s not too heavy, but adds a bit of warmth and style at the same time. I swapped out the tennis shoes for my slip on ones, and made sure to roll the sleeves of the jacket. I think the last look would be appropriate for school- but I would not wear the distressed jeans. No school for me today though (it’s conferences, so no substitutes needed), so I’m off to have some fun with girlfriends! 🙂
I can’t say enough how much I love this black bomber jacket. I bought it at H&M a few years ago, and it is such a great staple in my closet. It’s the perfect alternative to a cardigan for a chilly day.
In the picture on the left, I am wearing an American Eagle grey v neck t shirt with a zip up workout jacket from Lucy. This little jacket is perfect for when I’m playing tennis, but paired with a regular outfit it looks out of date. Instead, I’ll wear a black bomber jacket with the sleeves pushed up. This is a little more stylish, and just as warm. I’ve also replaced the white tennis shoes with my black Adidas- they don’t draw as much attention to my feet- and pair nicely with the black jacket. Tuck in my shirt, add a belt and some jewelry and I am set!
Good morning! It’s dark and grey outside, and I have a feeling it’s going to be like this all day, so I am wearing jeans, a sweatshirt and tennis shoes.
However, I do have to go to work, and the outfit on the left is a little too casual. While I love my Seahawks hoodie, this is not appropriate for my workplace. The cute camo sweatshirt is a little dressier (did I just call a sweatshirt dressy? Oh my!) and the black tennis shoes make my legs look a lot longer since there is one continuous line of black. Do the half tuck to emphasize my waist, throw on some bracelets for a little sparkle, and I’m ready for you 1st graders!
I’m finally home from my weeklong college tour trip. What a fun week with my daughter, but boy, I’m exhausted! Today I will be doing laundry, cleaning the house and stocking up on groceries… and probably sleeping a lot!
I could wear the all black outfit on the left, but wouldn’t it be more fun to wear the cute leggings on the right? Patterned leggings are a stylish way to wear athleisurewear- and the cropped style is a little more on trend than the long ones on the left. Notice the details on my jacket. Do you see how the vertical stitching defines my shape? It’s subtle, but those tiny details do make a difference. And the black tennis shoes look better than the pink and grey ones.
I know what you’re saying, enough with the camo already! But I just love it so much I can’t help myself! It’s easy to wear, pairs well with almost anything- and is super on trend. For our college tour today, it’s going to be chilly, so I’m wearing my black jeans (from the plane) and this cute camo sweatshirt.
In my before photo I am wearing my original camo sweatshirt that I bought from Target about 5 years ago. While I still love it, the newer, brighter version is a little cuter, especially with my black jeans. I like the boldness of the print- and the white stripes on the sleeves take it up a notch. This one is from American Eagle and the inside is so soft and warm- you will never want to take it off! Replacing the ugly grey tennis shoes with my cute black Adidas finishes off the outfit.
We all know how much I love my camo leggings! If not, check out these posts here and here. But I do want to say, there is such thing as too much camo- as seen in the photo below!
I would have never really worn the outfit on the left, but I wanted to demonstrate how a little camo goes a long way. This pattern is so strong that the outfit it much cuter with this plain top and bomber jacket.
I love this top because of the length and neckline. It covers my butt- plus has draping in it to give it interest and shape. See photo below-
This bomber jacket I bought at H&M and I love it.! It’s a nice alternative to a cardigan, plus it’s warmer! Best of all, it’s fun to wear! In the next few months I will pair it with jeans, joggers or even over a dress. It’s a perfect staple piece.
What is one of your wardrobe staples? I love hearing from readers to get inspiration. Have a great day!
