May 26, Blue and White

As you may have noticed, blue and white is one of my favorite color combos. There is just something so crisp, clean and classic about it. Today I’ve chosen my white distressed jeans and a cute patterned blue and white top.

The difference between the before and after is very subtle- but it matters. In the before look my jeans are too baggy. Look closely, you can see how there is extra fabric around my knees and thigh area, which looks odd. The skinny jeans on the right have enough stretch in them that they are tight, but still comfortable and allow for some movement.

The other changes I made (obviously) are adding a belt, doing the half tuck and changing into cuter shoes. All together, it’s a more polished look.

I love this print, it’s sort of like an animal print, but in blue and white. Fun!

*Full disclosure- I am not actually wearing this today, instead I am in my grubby clothes helping my hubby paint our bedroom. But, if I were going to do something fun today, this would be a cute outfit to wear. Hope you’re having more fun today than I am! 🙂

Sept 1st, Ikat Tunic

I stumbled across this cool Ikat top at World Market- of all places!

Sometimes I like to poke around there to find cool wrapping paper, cards and such- but then I saw this fun top and snapped it up thinking it would be a great swim suit cover up!

Needless to say, for the 3 weeks I was in Kansas (in the 100 degree heat) I never wore it, but actually, here in the Pacific Northwest, one does need a LONG SLEEVED cover up! Go figure!

Today I decided to try it a new way- as a tunic. Layered over my white jeans, I simply belted the top, (to give it a little more shape) added cute necklace and sandals and off we went to the mall to do back to school shopping.

I was so comfy- and will definitely be wearing this again!

I’m not usually a fan of prints- but I love the Ikat print- especially in my favorite colors, blue and white!
