Nov 12th, Cream Cords

Sorry for the late post- I was having some technical difficulties this morning!

And, truth be told- I played in a tennis match this afternoon (I lost), so I am just now getting dressed for the day.

I’m wearing my cream cords and a gray sweater. To add a little interest- and to tie the pants and sweater together, I added this cute scarf. It is not an infinity scarf- but I safety pinned the ends together to make it into one. I then looped the whole thing around my head 3 times. So easy!

Hope you’re having a great Monday!

I love the asymmetrical hemline of this sweater- it is so much more interesting than a straight hemline!

March 14th, Sisters in Chambray

Good morning! Sorry for the delayed post!

My sisters arrived yesterday after a very turbulent flight- so we had a few glasses of wine to calm our nerves…

Hence, we’re off to a late start today! LOL!

Here’s pic from last night- wearing our jammies and sipping our wine. We look pretty comfy, right?

Today we are going to hit the town and decided to dress in the theme of chambray. Each of us is wearing a different version of the same idea- a chambray shirt being the focus.

My older sister, Erin, has paired hers with red skinny jeans. She is a great example of how a large breasted, bigger tummy gal can wear skinny jeans (size 30). Paired with this tunic style shirt and pretty necklace, her legs look skinny and her boobs and tummy are hidden- she looks amazing.

I’m in the middle with a chambray shirt under a blue cable knit sweater. I’ve paired them with my cream cords and my Khol’s booties, and then I borrowed this cool bracelet from my sis.

Last is my little sis, Kara, who has on skinny jeans, a chambray shirt in a different wash and a grandpa sweater. She was worried she looked boring, but I don’t think so. I think she looks classic. Notice the all the details in her look- she has on an amazing belt, beautiful necklace and a gorgeous bracelet.

Not to mention her amazing shoes. These are the J Crew version of mine- (mine were around $40, hers were over $200) so definitely a splurge, but they are so stinking cute- and honestly they are much more comfortable than mine.

Come back tomorrow to see what we put together using only items from their suitcase… should be a fun!

A chambray shirt is a great wardrobe staple!

Below I’m showing my cute 12 year old niece, Ellie wearing her denim!

She’s paired this eyelet dress with a denim jacket and some funky shoes. How cute is that?

Ellie looks adorable in this sweet dress- and the denim jacket keeps it funky and youthful.

Feb 17th- Red Eye

Sorry for the delayed post. We took the red eye home from CA last night- and got home at 2:00 am. Remind me never to do that again!

I’m planning on running a bunch of errands today,  so I’ve opted for a really simple, yet comfy outfit (as usual).

I’ve chosen my grey cords and a blue cable knit sweater. On the right the 2 together look rather blah- (especially in this bad lighting) but by simply adding a striped shirt under my sweater and then accessorizing with the red necklace and shoes- the outfit takes on a totally different look.
I remember when I was younger and I thought the only thing you can wear under a sweater was a turtleneck. Preferably one with dolphins or rainbows (LOL!  Just watch these will probably come back into style- I sincerely hope not). My point is- when these turtlenecks went out of style I didn’t know what to wear under sweaters. (I know, I told you I’m no fashion expert!). Luckily, I’ve learned that you can throw a sweater over a t shirt or a blouse and achieve a pretty cute look, if I do say so myself!
I’m linking with Fashion Friday  with my friends at Girlymama today! Be sure to check them out too! Have a great weekend.
I like how the stripes break up the solid colors.
