March 2, Weekend Casual

Today’s OOTD is what I call weekend casual: jeans, t shirt and tennis shoes.

There’s nothing wrong with the outfit on the left, but it isn’t very stylish. The outfit on the right is a better version of the same idea.

In my opinion, broken in jeans is the epitome of relaxed style! (As seen here and here) Even if they aren’t old, these ripped ones sure look the part!  Best news is- they are from Target! And they are as soft as sweat pants. Seriously! Paired with this cute and comfy long sleeved Michael Stars t shirt- I’ve got an easy, casual weekend outfit. Happy Saturday!

Feb 17, Bright

Feb 17, Bright

As you can probably tell by now, I don’t wear a ton of colors, especially bright colors- but today I feel like wearing this pink sweatshirt. Sometimes there’s just something fun about bright pink!

Let’s compare the before and after photos. In my before photo, I’m wearing this shapeless pink fleece, baggy joggers and clunky tennis shoes. The fleece is super warm, but it’s not as cute as this pink sweatshirt on the right. The slimmer cut, the more flattering neckline, the half tuck, and the pushed up sleeves give this a little more stylish look. Paired with my skinny ripped black jeans and black Adidas, and it’s a cute, casual weekend look.

This cute sweatshirt is from Target! I love how the front comes up higher than the back.

Feb 2nd, Weekend Wear

Feb 2nd, Weekend Wear

Has this seemed like the longest week ever? It sure has to me. I traveled last weekend- and it literally took me until Wednesday to catch up on my sleep. I don’t know how people travel for work every week.

Today’s look is a great, easy weekend staple- leggings and a sweater. In my ‘before’ look my sweater (which I LOVE by the way) is too short for leggings. Also, my grey Uggs make my feet look clunky.

In my ‘after’ look, I have a striped sweater that is longer and covers me up more. I love this sweater because of the cute different stripe patterns  (the sleeves, the sides and the front are all different). Not sure if you’ve noticed this about me yet, but I wear very few patterns. But stripes- oh yeah! I LOVE strips and can’t get enough of them.

The black tennis shoes take the attention away from my feet- and the continual black makes my legs look longer.

This is cute, casual and cozy! Perfect way to spend a Saturday.

May 20th, Weekend Casual

Sorry for the delayed post, I’ve been cleaning my house this morning, and you definitely didn’t want yo see what I was wearing then.

Now I need to run a few errands, so I threw on a pair of cuffed jeans, a white cotton shirt (with cute button detail down the front) and then added a black vest to keep me warm.

Nothing earth shattering, nothing very fashionable- but my husband thought it looked cute, and that’s all that matters! 🙂

Enjoy your Sunday!

These Puma’s are the perfect weekend shoe- comfy, cute and casual!

May 12th, Tennis Anyone?

I’ll be the first to admit that I am addicted to tennis!

I don’t know how it happened, or why- but it did! I just started playing 2 years ago by taking lessons at my local tennis club, and after a year I joined a team and try to play about 4 times a week! Who would have thought that at 40 I would learn a new sport?!

So, today’s outfit is all about tennis. To be totally honest, one of the reasons I even started playing was because of the cute outfits! Yes, I”m that lame!

After a match, I may not have time to get home to change clothes- so I often run errands or pick up the kids from the bus in my tennis clothes, and I definitely want to look cute.

And now that I’m having foot problems, all the more reason to run around wearing my tennis shoes!

The thing is though-  even tennis outfits can work- or not! One of the worst offenses in tennis (for the not so serious player) is to have a skirt that is too long! As you can see from the picture on the right,  my blue skirt  looks a little dull and frumpy because of it’s length.

I know, I know, the longer the skirt- the more leg is covered- and take it from me- I would like to cover as much as possible!  But the good news is, no one seems to care! I have cottage cheese all over my legs- and I DONT CARE!

Simply said- the shorter skirt is cuter- and yes, you can see more cottage cheese- but I use that as my strategy to throw off my opponent! Just kidding…

This pink skirt is so feminine and flirty! To balance it out, I chose a white work out top and jacket.

I actually wore this outfit yesterday! So, if you see me today and I’m wearing something different, you’ll know why!

May 6th, Leggings with a Tunic

I was so comfy the other day when I wore my leggings with a dress, that I wanted to try it again today. It’s amazing how comfy and warm this is!

Last summer I picked up this fun printed dress off the clearance rack at Target. It’s really too short (for someone my age) to wear all alone- so I paired it with black cropped leggings, a black cardigan and black sandals. Now it’s more age appropriate and a great casual and comfy weekend outfit.

As you know, I rarely wear prints- so this a stretch for me- but I like it!
